The effect of the tundish flux on evolution non-metallic inclusions in Si-killed 304 (18%Cr-8%Ni) stainless steel has been investigated at 1773 K. interfacial reaction between molten and CaO–Al2O3–MgO causes aluminum pick-up from liquid slag into melt, resulting a decrease oxygen content steel. originating modifies pre-existing Mn-silicate alumina-rich Because decreases as it reacts with flux, degree supersaturation for alumina formation is too low to precipitate new-born particles By analyzing population density function (PDF) results inclusions, can be observed that growth spinel-type occurs by diffusion magnesium On other hand, composition steel, well negligibly changed when CaO–SiO2–MgO added Furthermore, computational simulation predicting during continuous casting process was carried out based refractory-slag-metal-inclusion (ReSMI) multiphase model.
